Oh Christmas Tree

Preschool children from the Early Education Center stopped yesterday to
watch the Christmas tree being situated in front of Honolulu Hale. The tree,
harvested Wednesday in Mililani, was planted at its original site around 1983
in memory of a nearby family's daughter who died of leukemia.

Christmas Trees in Hawaii

The article reads: "It's still a week to Halloween and a month to Thanksgiving, but Matson Navigation Co. has announced the arrival date for its annual Christmas Tree Ship…most trees for
Oahu residents will go on sale the day after Thanksgiving."

Even the traditional symbols of Christmas come with a twist in Hawaii. Consider the Christmas tree...
