Keiki Water Festival

The 2nd Annual Keiki Water Festival, an educational event that is sponsored by Honolulu's Department of Environmental Services is slated for tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to noon on the campus of Kalihi Waena Elementary School. About 400 fourth and fifth graders and their teachers will be greeted by guides from Kamehameha Middle School and Kappa Epsilon Betta, a fraternity at the University of Hawaii. I volunteered for the festival last year, and I learned a lot about the environment that I did not know - it was lots of fun.

According to Mayor Mufi Hannemann. "We learn some of life's most important lessons when we're young. The festival is an annual event that encourages students to learn more about water and water-related careers through hands-on activities with their teachers and water professionals,"
