Watercolor Art and the Maui Rainbow Girl

When I was young girl, I visited a friend in New York who took me to Moma and Met. He had to explain the Art Deco style to me as well as other art movements - have to admit that I was sorta' embarrassed. I came back and spent a summer reading art history volumes and watching the Shock of the New on PBS.

I found that there was very little art that I did not like in some way or the other. I like modern art, and I love classic art. I'd like to pretend that I immediately recognized the value of comic art. But it took time to realize that I dismissed most comics not because I was sophisticated. But because I was ignorant and biased. I simply didn't know enough to judge.

Speaking of art, here is an amazing watercolor from the Barbara Steinberg art gallery. This one is called "Maui Rainbow Girl".

Aloha ~
