I have learned lots from other bloggers, and I LOVE helping aspiring new bloggers in getting their websites up and running. I recently stumbled across a very good collection of web hosting articles and tutorials that should be helpful to you - really wish that this particular website was around when I was struggling to learn blogging myself.
This site gives advice on web hosting security for instance, warning folks to steer away from the cheapest hosting opportunities and freebies, but also cautioning that the expensive hosting choices are probably not advisable either. Instead, they give a pretty straight forward and honest assessment of your hosting choices and then offer tutorials to walk you through what can be a difficult journey as you try to make your first website.
