Haka Warrior Barack Obama to Appear in Honolulu This Fall
A friend of mine on the mainland asked me to pick up a grass hula skirt for her daughter to wear when she goes trick-or-treating this fall. I stopped by Hilo & Hatie to see what they had, but then I remembered a place that my college friends have used in the past for their Halloween costumes - decided to give them a look before buying local.
Halloween is loved by almost everyone, and it is celebrated just as widely here in Honolulu, Hawaii as it is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One of the most exciting things about Halloween, in my opinion, is choosing just the right costume - something to really portray your Halloween personality. Whether you decide to go as a character out of a horror film or as a character out of a fairytale, you can bet that somewhere you'll find the perfect costume if you give yourself enough time. Get that costume picked out, and then you can start working on accesorizing - choosing just the right Halloween accessories to enhance your costume.
My boyfriend and I are planning to go as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton this year! Ha....... we disagree and debate on everything anyway (keeps our relationship interesting), so we'll dress the part and find issues to debate all night. Important issues like whether language is necessary for thought, or whether morality is absolute. I know, it sounds stupid, but we like to do it and it doesn't hurt anyone- so leave us alone - lol! Anyway, he's getting his hand gestures down and I'm picking out the perfect pantsuit!
What are you going to wear and how will you accesorize?
There are all kinds of Halloween accessories to choose from - all depends on the costume you're wearing and any special effects you wish to obtain by adding accessories. For instance, we'll probably wear some traditional Hawaiian garb with our masks. My boyfriend is kinda' muscular so he may go as a Haka warrior (no shirt, body paint, spear) while sporting his Barack mask. I may wear a coconut bra and grass skirt with my Hillary mask.

Well, there are all kinds of wigs which are lots of fun - afro wigs, beehives, Goth wigs, etc. To do it up right, you'll also want to check out Halloween makeup and artificial tattoos maybe even colored contact lenses that will add that something a little extra to your Halloween costume choice.
For example, if you would like to go as a fairy, angel, bumblebee, or something else with wings this year, you can find the right costume just for you and the wings to match besides. Alternatively, you can also use wings to dress up a costume in a way that's creative and that someone else might not have thought of, such as a demon or devil, as you celebrate Halloween.
