What Happens in Vegas...

Las Vegas, Nevada... home of glitzy dinner shows, dinner buffets, and all night casinos right? Well, yes but there is an event going on in December that only those in the know would associate with Vegas. The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is the biggest prize money rodeo in the world (it actually paid out around $5.5 million to contestants last year), and it's the most prestigious rodeo in the world for sure. The NFR decides which cowboy will wear the gold buckle and be tagged world champion for the entire year.
The first National Finals Rodeo was held in Dallas, Texas way back in 1959. It played out in a number of other major cities each year before camping in Vegas permanently 1985. Forget Celine Dion, in December this is the hottest tickets in town selling out each of it's last 220 performances!
Wrangler Jeans is the sponsor for the 10-day event, commonly just called the National Finals or NFR. It's also referred to as the World Series of Rodeo as well as the Super Bowl of Rodeo. The NFR is held each year during the first full week of December at the Thomas & Mack Convention Center on the campus of the UNLV.
Since this event is extremely popular, National Rodeo Finals tickets are difficult to come by. If you can find a ticket, this is a must do for December in Vegas. Hope you can catch it!!
Aloha ~
