Rental Cars and The Bus in Oahu
So we talked about getting around in New York City, now let's talk about getting around here in Honolulu.
The Island of Oahu has a bus system - so good that "the bus" can get you to nearly any location on the entire island! Because the bus system is SO good, lots of people ask if it’s really necessary to to rent a car. In my opinion, the answer to that question is always... yes, yes, yes!
If you want to experience the real beauty of Oahu, you'll want to drive directly to that beauty rather than waiting for a bus to get you there. Yes, you'll get there on the bus eventually, but you can be almost anywhere on the island in an hour or less with your own car.
So whether it's the white sandy beaches of Waimanalu or the glorious Lani Kai Beach, my suggestion is to take your own car and get there quickly!
